"All that we are is the result of what we have Thought. The mind is Everything. What we Think we Become" - The Buddha
Even before we realize, our thoughts create beliefs, the words we use, actions we take and manifest into our reality.
But on an average, we think over 72,000 thoughts a day! That’s about 50 thoughts in a minute! How is it possible to control so many thoughts to change our reality?
Not all thoughts are created equally.
The power of any thought is determined by how often you have that thought and by the strength of the feelings or emotions associated with it. For Example: You might think positive 10 times a day but if you have one repeated bad thought for more than ten times a day, it is of no use.
How can we change this equation, you may ask?
Three simple steps to begin with:
Be Aware of the Thoughts: Instead of justifying yourself/ your thought in that moment, accept the negativity in the thought.
Focus on your Dominant/Repeating Thought: Not all thoughts need your immediate attention. It is your dominant thoughts and beliefs that need to be brought under your conscious control. As you do, you will find your random thoughts themselves becoming more positive and more deliberate.
Narrate a New Story: Once you catch your unwanted/negative thought, instantly and deliberately tell yourself a new positive story and replace that thought with an opposite positive thought.
